Clayton AhQuin Jr. - Program Director
Clayton has worked with the State of Utah in creating the “Clear the Air” campaign, which is a no-smoking and no-tobacco project. He has been involved in the development of young men in various programs for the past 10 years. Mr. AhQuin has a great ability to reach a wide variety of boys in the program through a great love of his, which is music. Teaching the guitar, playing the piano, and giving vocal instruction on his free time with many of the boys is a time he looks forward to. |

Mike Otufangavalu - Supervisor
Mike has been working with troubled youth for over five years. "Watching the youth grow from troubled teens to successful young adults". Mike believes that the youth who find themselves in these situations are all good people who have made bad choices. They need a little help bringing that good part out. Mike is a firm believer in integrating productive activities along with group and individual therapy, that teach skills like teamwork, coping skills, anger management, into the youths everyday lives. Mike has an active role in the polynesian community doing various activities including monthly service projects, providing Polynesian entertainment for luaus, and fundraisers to collect money for people in need. Travis Carney - Staff Supervisor
Travis is a Staff Supervisor at Liahona Academy. He served in the United States Navy for four years during operation Enduring Freedom. He is enrolled in Dixie State College, where he plans to become a registered male nurse. He is a very enthusiastic full of energy person who loves doing outdoor activities such as hiking, mountain biking, rock climbing, rappelling and trail running. From the training he received in the United States Navy, he brings a great positive attitude and a sense of security to Liahona Academy. |

Brad Christiansen Head Schoolmaster
With a Masters Degree of Education from BYU, Bachelors in Elementary Education from Memphis State University, and an Associate of Science From Dixie College in Utah, Brad Christensen is definitely an asset to our team. In addition to an Administrative Endorsement, he is a member of the Utah and National Association for Secondary School Principals, and a member of the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development. Brad is not in the education field just because he can be, but because he wants to be. It is his way of helping youth and influencing their lives for the better.

Blain Davis - Case Manager
Blaine has recently moved up to Utah about three months ago from
Arizona. He has worked at Liahona for several months now, and brings a lot of enthusiasm and experience with him. He has recently become an important part of the Liahona team as a Case Manager who truly loves doing his job. He loves working with the boys and has made a personal goal to help everyone of them in their stay here at Liahona.

Andy Nelson - Case Manager
Andy was born in Las Vegas Nevada. Raised in Sandiego California where he attended Palamar Community college where he studied criminal justice and psychology. He is happily married for 2 years with a beautiful baby boy. Andy loves sports. Andy loves mentoring these boys into young men. Andy loves working with the youth and spend time with his family.

Colten Cox - Case Manager
Colt was born and raised in southern utah. He has worked for Liahona Academy going on 18 months. He loves interacting with youth and has a good outgoing personality, so he gets along with everybody. He graduated from Hurricane High School and recieved his private pilot license. Colt loves the outdoors and grew up on a ranch raising livestock. He loves to go hunting, fishing and playing in outdoor sports. He has studied martial arts for almost 13 years. He plans on Liahona Academy being his career because he loves helping the boys.

Stephen C. Barrick, LPC
Steve is licensed as a professional counselor by the state of Utah. Steve recieved his Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from Southern Utah University and has a Master' Degree from the University of Phoenix. He loves working with youth and has spent the last 12 years working as a school counselor, with state youth corrections, and in outpatient theraputic settings; the last two years of which have been in a residential treatment setting. He loves to spend time with his wife and five children hiking and camping in the incredible mountians and canyons of southern Utah.

Brent Price - Therapist
Brent Price is a licensed clinical social worker, marriage and family therapist. He recieved his Ph.D from the University of Douglas. He has worked with adolescents and families much of his professional carrer. He is married and has five children.

Clayton AhQuin Sr. Activities Director
Clay’s fun loving personality and affinity for hard work compliment his strong belief that there is a time for work and a time for play. Clay has planned many fun activities hiking, boating, wake boarding, swimming, sports, sightseeing, etc. as well as educational activities such as working out at the gym, visiting local businesses, touring historic sites, and building a rock wall. Clay believes in strengthening the body as well as the mind while life skills lessons are being taught.

Sue Reynolds - Office Manager
Sue has been a part of Liahona Academy for quite some time. As the office manager maintaining updated files and accurate paperwork for processing procedures on every child enrolled in Liahona Academy is one of her primary duties. Having worked for other treatment centers in the industry, Sue comes equipped with experience and understanding with the tools needed to help with the students and fellow staff. Sue is happily married with three children who are all teenagers. In college Sue studied Psychology, Art and Geology. Sue enjoys the opportunity working at Liahona Academy and truly enjoys seeing the progress that each student builds on a daily basis which makes this a special part of her life.
